Missing notifications or messages
The information below only applies if 8sms is running on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) or lower. If 8sms is running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) or higher, please make 8sms the default sms app.
Please read both sections below. Missing notifications and missing messages are two very different problems.
If you do not see a notification for a new message but it appears in the message thread or inbox when using 8sms, then the problem is missing notifications.
8sms is unable to see the system's "sms received" event so it does not know about the new message.
Please check whether you are using any other sms apps like Go SMS or Textra which may be interfering. These apps often prevent other apps like 8sms from seeing the system's "sms received" event.
If you are using any of these apps, try disabling them and then test if this fixes your problem.
(Note: If you disable other sms apps and also disable the stock messaging app that came with your device, then you must use 8sms in Stand-alone mode.)
If there are no other third party messaging apps on your phone and this problem still occurs, please contact us for further help.
If you see a notification for a new message, but the message does not appear in the message thread or inbox when using 8sms, then the problem is missing messages.
The usual cause of this problem is that 8sms is operating in default mode, but the stock messaging app on the phone is missing or disabled.
To fix this, turn Stand-alone mode on for 8sms.
